Leo's Pizza - Dunedin

This needs to be corrected. I have read other reviews and some people are getting mixed up with the two Leo’s 1. Leo’s in Palm Harbor is the new one. Leo is the owner and he sold the Leo’s in Dunedin. 2. The Leo’s in Dunedin is great. There is a new owner but the name has remained the same. They have a new chief and the food is fantastic. Fresh hot rolls right from the oven. I have eaten there for the last 6 weeks looking to see if I would get a bad meal. I have not. Karen the waitress has been great with the service. Please drop by and try the pizza or any other dish. I give it 5 stars. RFK

We decided to give this restaurant a try after getting a deal on restaurant.com. It certainly lacked simple seasoning on most of the dishes. We ordered the calamari and it was bland. The squid was cooked perfectly but the breading had no taste. We put lemon, salt, and pepper on it and it still wasn’t enough. The tomato sauce they served with it was very bland. It tasted like something out of a can. Very surprising coming from an Italian restaurant. We also ordered the garlic cheese bread. It was okay, nothing special. Two of us had the wedding soup. It was pretty good but lacked meat in it. A little to peppery for my liking. One got the fettucini alfredo with chicken. She said it was “okay” but the chicken was cooked well. Another got the spaghetti and meatballs. He said it was very bland, both the meatballs and the sauce (same sauce that came with the calamari). I had the lobster ravioli. It was very good. The sauce was a different tomato base sauce and it was very tasty. The serve was very good and our waitress was very tentative. The food came out very quickly. In fact, too quickly. We were still eating our soup and salads when the main course came out. They give you a lot of food. They could cut back the prices and give you half the amount of food. Overall, I don’t think we’ll be going back there any time soon.

We just left the restaurant. The china a silverware was filthy, and the grated cheese was full of mold! The only thing that was good, was the band. Years ago, we often went to Leo’s. After tonight, this will be our last. It’s too bad, b/c it’s nice to listen and dance to music while having dinner.
