We were lucky to sit outside, but the sky is overwhelmed and they were able to switch to an indoor table where we enjoyed the banter with the bar staff and waiter when they came and went. The most important courses were delicious and the desserts were excellent.
We arrived here after a walk along the beach and the promenade. The waiter was very helpful as we gluten-free for our daughter, like they celiac. They were happy to commit and double checked everything before we ordered. Beautiful mussels and frits, Steak Hache for my daughter and Flemish stew for my nave leg.
On a Monday along the Dunkirk coast we came across this place. Between us we had a goat cheese salad (very nice), a cheeseburger (very nice) and one thing that was roughly translated as a full-visal bread that (for me) a croquet Monsieur, but in... a swimming pool of molten cheese, with a roasted egg above. And Pommes. It was really nice, and most of the cheese I've ever eaten. 55 Euro for 3 (all had diet coke)
As this was the only place who served dinner at around 1800 we went here. Actually it is not a restaurant but more like a bar which serves food. The service is ok. The food is cheap and price wise you get value for your money.
We were trying to find somewhere for Sunday lunch, not having booked (never a good idea in France) and were rather disconsolately working our way along the beachfront in Dunkirk when we happened upon Le Malouin. Diner-type eating, it was quick, easy and good value for money. Moules-frites and a salade de chevre arrived quickly and were really huge portions. Well-prepared, nothing too fancy, but just what was required before we hurtled to the ferry.
