Excellent service and good food. especially the desert staff is very friendly and happy and friendly. recommend this restaurant. will be definitiw back

We turned up at the pub for our meal which we were really looking forward to it : As we parked up all the lights went out and there was total darkness. I rang the pub several times from the car park and got no answer. I really couldn't work out what was going off. I ended up booking another table somewhere else so my husband and I could eat. I left a message at The Travellers Rest to say if they were having problems I thought it a bit rude that they hadn't taken the time to call their customers that had booked a table to let them know what was happening. We arrived at the next place where we managed to get a table, whilst we were waiting I got a phone call from The Travellers Rest to let me know that the reason the pub was in darkness was that they'd had a power cut and the only reason I got a phone call to let me know was because I had left the voicemail asking what was going on. Unfortunately it also meant that the voucher I had for that night expired before I can get over that way again.

Nice old time pub ambience, service quick and polite. Menu gave enough options and they can deal with food allergies. Not rushed either to clear the tables. Well done.

Chilled evening out for my husband I. Was well worth it. Never been here before, so it made a nice change. The food was delicious and the staff with polite and friendly. We treated ourselves and indulged in 3 courses. All were nicely presented, hot and very tasty. The ambience was nice and relaxed too. Would definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone. Did find the prices a little much but we had a discount voucher so that made it worthwhile.

As usual, the food and service was brilliant. We love this place. I definitely recommend this restaurant for their good hearty food and relaxed atmosphere.
