I truly love this hidden gem in Durham. They offer an excellent selection of European olive oils and a fantastic variety of balsamic vinegars, perfect for Christmas or birthday gifts! I enjoy experimenting with new flavors each time I visit, but the pomegranate white balsamic vinegar is absolutely heavenly! I suggest mixing it with olive oil for a simple yet delicious salad dressing. Plus, there's a great bonus: you can return the glass bottle for a discount on your next purchase, making it a win for sustainability! But that’s not all—they also have soup mixes, specialty pasta, candy, local honey, and jams. It’s one of my favorite local spots and my go-to place for quick gifts. The staff is always friendly and helpful, providing outstanding customer service. And be sure to try their local honey—you won’t regret it!

I found this out only when I visited the store to collect my order and was casually informed that my items had been put back. When I inquired about a refund, I was told that I should receive it within 7-10 business days, minus the 15% restocking fee. I was told a phone call had been made to notify me, but I have no voicemail. I was also asked if I received an email notice, which I did not. It was frustrating to find all of this out in person when I went to pick up my order—no remedy was offered! While I genuinely try to support local small businesses, this experience makes me hesitant to do so in the future. I’m sharing this to emphasize the importance of reading the policies before making a purchase. If you choose to buy, proceed with caution. Sometimes, in trying to help local businesses, you might end up facing unnecessary fees and disappointment—as I did. My previous experiences had been positive, and I always visited the store to buy in person, but after this interaction, I regret letting my guard down. Now, I’m left with no olive oil and a 15% restock fee.

This little shop is fantastic! I can confidently say I will never purchase olive oil from the grocery store again. The difference is remarkable—regular olive oil simply doesn’t compare, and you really won't want to go back! We especially enjoy the rosemary olive oil drizzled on crusty bread for a snack. The Milanese gremolata olive oil is incredibly versatile and enhances almost any dish. I also have a fondness for their balsamic vinegars, particularly for crafting unique cocktails. A dash of the jalapeño balsamic adds a delightful kick to any drink, while the maple balsamic is perfect for drizzling over Brussels sprouts before roasting.
