The burger lacked flavor but was okay compared to the rest. The fried pickles were soggy and appeared to be seasoned yet had no flavor at the same time. The condiments bag had a cup of ranch that the lid was not properly sealed and had spilled out into the bag. Avoid this place at all costs, my total was $27. Definitely way overpriced for the quality of food.
No wait staff. You order like fast food. Onion rings are not rings, just floppy onions with a slight coating. Impossible Burger was small, good but small. I had to go hunting for utensils. It was 19.83 for a small tea, Burger, and onion things. Never going back again. Husbands beer from the bar 16oz. 8 dollars plus tip.
I have been wanting to try this place since they opened because it's WALBURGERS. We were very disappointed. When you arrive you Order off a menu like fastfood, Pay and seat yourself. Different, I like a menu at my table to look at desserts and drinks ect. The only employee taking orders making drinks and serving us was great!! I feel bad for her doing it all. Our burgers were both remade and still made wrong. Small and mushy and either no toppings or the wrong toppings. Burgers were comped without us asking or complaining which was nice but not necessary, onion rings are very tiny strings no breading and all clumped together. I definitely expected better.
You order before you enter the actual restaurant. Loved that it was inside the awesome HyVee. Plastic cups and silverware, you and sit where you want. The ladies that took our order also brought it out to us at the table we selected (like culvers). Very nice staff, 100%. However I thought they didn't talk to each other as to who's job was what as it seemed pretty laid back and un attentive. I tipped the one cashier as she said she'd also be bring out our order, however someone else brought and bussed our table. I hope they share tips. Now for the burgers ::: they cook to order so one ordered medium well, got medium to medium rare. Would've taken too long to reorder so did get refunded. The actual bun is so cheap that it was nearly impossible to eat the burger without the bun falling apart. The ingredients were fresh and delicious. The sweet potato tatortots were also good. They give free kids meals so that was a pleasant surprise but didn't get child's drink or side. We had to go ask for several items. We asked a young man who served our burgers if onions could also be ordered fried for a next time visit but he didn't know -forgot to ask on our way out. The double burger was cooked perfectly and topping delicious, however again that darn cheap thin bun!
I reallllly wanted to like this place, but it more feels like I wasted $37.The good: tater tots, sweet potato tots, chicken fingers, and the chips from the nachos. The bad: Nothing had much for flavor or seasonings, but the texture was on point for a few things, they just didn't taste good. Not bad, just more bland in particular. The OFD burger: came with raw mushrooms, but supposed to be sauteed. When I asked about the mushrooms, the server said that those are just the mushrooms they put on it. He asked if I wanted them to cook them more. I said, yeah, but they aren't cooked at all.. and asked if they could make it like the way the menu says. He brought it back with sauteed mushrooms. The burger itself was more like a medium rare, (not medium like I ordered) Very greasy, but really did have an overall good texture and the bun was good. There was just like, no seasoning. It mainly just tasted like plain beef. The Mac n Cheese. This had a good creamy texture but my daughter barely had two bites because it didn't taste like anything. It needed some salt and cheese. Texture-wise, it was okay. The nachos: the chips were freshly fried and crispy. The toppings were decent in theory, but again, no real significant flavor. Also, a puddle of grease was left in the bottom of the container because that's how greasy it was.The Street Corn Salad: the chicken was cut into pretty big pieces and on the dry side, but not inedible. There wasn't much for toppings or dressing, for that matter. The lettuce was also cut in fairly large pieces, which is just harder to eat it definitely could have been chopped better.I wouldn't say I'll never eat at Wahlburger's again, but it will be a different location if I do.
