The Donut Shop - Eagle Bay

I made a stop here while visiting the area. They only offer basic, old-fashioned cake donuts. It's a bit disappointing; I expected more variety.

We always passed by this donut shop for about five years without stopping, until we finally decided to check it out on our way back from Lake Placid. The service was quick and friendly, and the donuts are absolutely out of this world. We visited around 2 PM, so they weren't fresh, but it didn't matter at all. No matter the time of day, these donuts are incredibly delicious and practically melt in your mouth. If you're new to the area, I highly recommend stopping by in the morning for the freshest batch. Make sure to use your GPS, as it can be easy to miss, but it's definitely worth every penny!

We heard about this restaurant from tourists and friends, so we decided to check it out. On our first attempt to stop by, we arrived about 30 minutes before closing, but they were already locked up. However, when we passed by the next morning, they were open and had a steady stream of customers. Since there weren't many dining options around, we opted for takeout: two donuts and a large coffee for just $4. The price was fair, the coffee was decent, and the donuts were absolutely delicious. They only offered plain and cinnamon options, and while both were excellent, I can't really understand why anyone would choose the plain donut when the cinnamon/sugar topping would really elevate the experience. Overall, it’s a charming little spot worth a visit.

This place is a legendary Adirondack facility. Every time we camp in Old Forge, I wake up early in the first morning and get a dozen to get back to the camp for the family. Only two types of donuts (center and level) but like most places that offer a limited menu, they have perfected what they do. You won't find a better donut period. Breakfast sandwiches and coffee are also very good.

The cinnamon sugar old fashioned donuts are like a personal pot of gold. Yum!!!
