The Maidstone - East Hampton

The restaurant serves delicious classic Hamptons dishes. It has a beautiful ambiance, and the service was excellent. I've been coming here for over 30 years, creating happy memories in the Hamptons!

This restaurant has a charming atmosphere. Sadly, the quality of the food being served is not up to the level of other local restaurants in East Hampton. The menu is somewhat limiting and the chicken we ordered had a rubbery texture signaling that the quality was bad or perhaps it was old.

This is a fantastic restaurant, and I'm thrilled to see them open again this season. The service is excellent, and the newly updated menu features delicious dishes. The dining room has a lovely atmosphere, making it easy to have a conversation. I absolutely loved my experience and will definitely be returning.

Great restaurant in East Hampton. Wonderful dishes. The Maidstone is a great place for a wedding or private party in the hamptons. I love the oyster and lobster here. They also have a great hangover burger for brunch. I highly recommend the Maidstone for lunch or dinner. Great for large groups.

The biggest change has been the staff. Initially, they had the best and most consistent team in the Hamptons. They recognized you when you walked in and knew your preferences. Now, the staff constantly changes, and they barely seem familiar with the menu, let alone what I might enjoy. The menu itself has also taken a turn for the worse. It used to feature distinctly Scandinavian dishes, with meatballs as a cornerstone favorite. Now, many of the signature items that made this place special have disappeared, and the menu feels random, featuring things like chili and tacos—honestly, like something you'd find at a dive bar. I'd suggest giving it a try, but keep your expectations in check. It’s clear they’re trying to reinvent themselves, but they keep missing the mark. Who knows, maybe one day they’ll stumble upon the right formula again—after all, even a broken clock is right twice a day, right?
