Big John's Bbq - East Helena

We stopped for dinner on 9/8/15, but the restaurant was closed. There was a sign on the door stating that it was out of business due to illness. My wife mentioned that a sign had been posted two days earlier, but she didn't read it. Looks like we won't be able to use those Half Off Dining coupons after all.

The pulled pork sandwich was decent but overpriced at $11. Lunch for two came to $23, which was not worth it for the small portions. The flavor was okay but not as good as I had hoped for. It was pretty mild. I hope the restaurant does well, but with their high prices for the area and average location, I doubt they will last through the summer.

On Saturday, we tried two different flavors of ribs at this restaurant. The overall food quality was quite good. Our waitress, a young girl, seemed to lack confidence and experience. Although I didn't opt for the buffet, I did take a look at it and decided it wasn't for me. However, I would definitely return for items off the menu. My wife also enjoyed the meal, which is a big compliment coming from her. In general, we had a positive experience and plan to return. It may be helpful if the restaurant changes its days off to Monday and Tuesday, and stays open on Sundays.
