Quite pricey £4.80 for toast), but very tasty, friendly staff and nice surroundings.
I met a friend for brunch. The food was very good however we waited a while for our order to be taken. The restaurant was busy which may gave been the reason.
Waitress never stated they only do scrambled eggs plus only asked for 1 slice of toast and got 3 slices. Scrambled egg was very bland unfortunately. Young waiter was very nice and polite. Cappuccino and latte were nice. However what has really put me off was when I was eating my breakfast a customers dog pooped on the floor (diorreah) she only wiped it with a napkin leaving diorreah skid marks on the floor then walked out with her friend. I don't think dog's should be allowed into the restaurant for this reason. Felt sorry for the waitress having to clean up a customers dogs diorreah. For this reason I personally wouldn't go back unless dogs are kept outside. Last thing I ever want to see when eating breakfast put me right off. I hope the customer of the dog is utterly ashamed of herself too busy on her mobile phone to properly clean up her own dog's mess.
We ordered a penne pomodoro, garlic bread and a tuna salad. We washed them down with a 2015 Barolo chosen from their store collection. Everything was outstanding! I mean really outstanding. The penne was obviously freshly made and fantastic and the salad was not only wonderful but had an interesting and extensive mix of ingredients. The Barolo was very reasonably priced too and the corkage charge was only £7 which is way better than many other such establishments. The food was simply wonderful and the wine a perfect compliment. The shop allows you to have an extensive choice of wines to choose with your meal and experiment rather than be constructed by what is offered in the wine list. The two desserts were to die for. Fantastic profiteroles and a to die for cheesecake, with an outstanding coffee (an americano (a shot of espresso with a separate pot of hot water so you can have the coffee just the way you like it (I love that and hot chocolate. The premises have a really nice feel and ambience. Feel as if you are in Italy. The service was impeccable also. We had a nice quiet table and the young lady who served us was attentive but not overbearing. We bought some more wine and delicacies from the shop when leaving. We consumed them the next day at a sunny picnic. If you like dessert wines, the La Bella Estate Moscato passito is a must try!
