The Cup Saucer - East Renfrewshire

I met a friend at this restaurant for breakfast today and I can't complain about the quality of service and the overall atmosphere. However, the value for money was disappointing. I ordered toast and scrambled eggs, which was served on a single thin slice of brown bread that was underwhelming. The menu did not specify one slice, and I believe most people would expect at least two slices. The portion of eggs was sufficient. My friend ordered poached eggs on toast with rocket and avocado. Once again, it was served on a single slice of thin brown bread with a very small poached egg (1) that was barely visible under the rocket. The quality of the food was good, but I don't believe it was worth the price as most people would expect two slices of toast and two eggs for the price of £6.95. We enjoyed two delicious coffees and the selection of home-baked goods looked fantastic. I will definitely return for coffee and cake, but not for breakfast. We didn't complain as we assumed this was the standard portion size.

This cafe/restaurant is nice, but there are a couple of suggestions to improve the rating. It would be beneficial to offer a choice of soups as not everyone enjoys the same kind. Stick to classic options like minestrone, lentil, or hearty vegetable soups that patrons prefer on a snowy day. Additionally, please provide real heaters instead of decorative "wood burners with fairy lights" - customers would appreciate a warm radiator or plug-in heater to keep them comfortable in cold weather. Despite these remarks, the staff is friendly, the areas are clean, and the cakes are delicious. If these improvements are made, a higher star rating will be given.

My daughter and I visited this venue for the first time on Friday, February 9th for an event that we saw advertised. The play was very entertaining and the live music was great. However, above all, we must commend the staff for their excellent customer care and top-notch service. They truly went above and beyond, earning an 11 out of 10 in our books. This was our first visit but certainly not our last.

Popped in last Sunday, lovely polite efficient staff, fab fresh food and nice atmosphere. Will definately pop in again !

If you haven’t seen what has been done to this place then a drive past along the Ayr Road will let you know that the folks running it are making a really good go things. It looks inviting from outside, it is warm and comfortable inside and it has a relaxed atmosphere with nice things to eat and lovely coffee as well. Hopefully it will gain a good reputation and survive longer than other establishments in this local area have faired good luck to the owners.
