We booked a table for Saturday for 4.30 we arrived about 4.10 so ordered a drink , when my partner booked for 4.30 nobody said to him they don’t serve food till 5 so we thought we’d have a drink but we had 50 minutes to food so my partner asked would it be possible to order some olives and bread as I’d been at work and not eaten all day and didn’t want wine on nothing ! We didn’t think this was a bad think and the waitress said yes no problem so we thought great , however she returned with a message from the chef “ I don’t have time “ !! Now pick we were the only ones in the dining area and we were 50 mins till dining but he WOULDNT cut a piece of bread ! . Our message to the chef last time we ate we were with friends and we all said how boring bland and low class the food was but we thought we’d giv3 it another go ...... IN THE ECONOMY WE ARE IN CUT THE BREAD YOUR CUSTOMERS KEEP YOU IN WORK MAN
Table booked for five. Good varied menu. Excellent friendly service. The food was very good generous portions. Two of us had the lasagne agreed it was one of the best we have ever eaten. Two friends had the Thai curry said the same. One friend had the pie said it was lovely but couldn’t manage to eat all of it, the portion was too large for her. We all agreed that we will be going back definitely recommend it.
Table serve was terrible. Some staff were friendly but no one checked if we were all right. We waited 40 minutes to be served. Salmon dish was disgusting, burnt in some places and under cook and slimy in other places. Drizzled lemon juice on the new potatoes and dripping with grease. The beef lasagna was greasy and cheese burnt and sickly and swimming in the grease. Like a pizza with the wrong cheese in it. Bacon burger was okay and the chicken curry was runny but okay taste. Charged for 4 pints when only got 2 £82 overall just for mains and drinks and definitely not worth the price or the time going there.
Booked table for 8 served quick. Extensive menu worth the visit. Really good food and portions, staff friendly and helpful. Bit noisy but bearable. Definitely be coming back
Me and my friends arrived at Judson’s promptly after booking a table for 7:30 PM (by promptly i mean around 7:20 PM). However, it took them until nearly 7:40 to take us through to our table. As i walked in i received a few strange looks from waiters and waitresses alike (and i wasn’t wearing anything strange, at least i don’t think LOL), as well as this i also noticed that there was no formal dress code with staff all just dressed in black jeans and t shirts, one was even wearing a hawaiian shirt. I was seated at what i thought to be a nice cosy table where me and my friends chatted for a while, around 20 minutes, until we ordered our first drinks. It took almost 15 minutes for our drinks to then arrive at the table, slowly but surely i began to grow more and more dissatisfied at the level of service. Once our drinks arrived we then ordered food roughly 25 minutes later, the waiter claiming to have ‘forgot’ to ask us, how do you forget about the customers at your own restaurant!!!! I ordered the steak pie, a seemingly awful choice. It came and appeared to be slightly burnt and not well presented, no bother, however when i tucked into the disappointingly presented steak pie i came to realise it was just truly horrid. The meat was not well cooked for my liking, the sides that came with it weren’t very nice either, and i also recall my friends being slightly displeased with their meals too. We finished our food and then waited 20 minutes for our table to be cleared as staff passed by several times, one making direct eye contact with me and my friends. Our table was then finally cleared after an almost everlasting wait, we were then (15 minutes later may i add) asked if we would like to order desserts. We looked at the menus and despite the awful experience decided to give it a shot after a few minutes of picking and choosing. I then ordered the sticky toffee pudding which for the price wasn’t anything flash, far too rich and not what i’d expect at all from a sticky toffee pudding to be honest. Once we’d finished our desserts, my friends and i asked for the bill, not only did we have to ask twice for our bill, but after we did we also overheard other customers being told they could no longer order desserts as the kitchen was closed. While this was going on, i had noticed someone who looked and was dressed like a chef downstairs in the restaurant, i didn’t know that you could get paid to walk out of your place of work and into the restaurant while customers are still wanting to eat! We finally got our bill and paid as i didn’t really want to make a fuss and embarrass myself by complaining in a restaurant full of people, leaving no tip after a most disgusting display, by anyone ranging from the lowest level waiter there to the head chef, whom i can’t comprehend managed to even get through chef’s school with what i was cooked that evening.
