The Tavern - East Staffordshire

We visited the tavern for an impromptu family meal, we arranged in the evening to check that they had burst and the heart we spoke with on the phone was very pleasant. at the arrival the bar area is welcoming and comfortable and we sat and...had a drink before going to the main restaurant. the restaurant area was cooler after he sat near the bar with the far walking and ideally it was warmer, but it was not a big problem. the menu is not huge, but there is a variety that ensures that everyone is accommodated for and there are several options that they do not see, offer very often what was beautiful! I had the french trout for which I should die! cooked exceptionally well and beautifully presented! very tasty and one must for fish lovers. there were also cakes of the day, a burger and fish and chips for the less adventurous eater in our part. I then had minze and kalk crème brûlée for the whisper I must admit, I have a bit of a gamble on it because I was not sure that the taste combination would work, but I was not disappointed! it came with homemade short bread and edible flowers, which was also an exciting tasty bite! would definitely recommend a visit for those in the opposite!

A fabulous friendly pub in a beautiful village. this was a repeated visit (one of many.) eating was so delicious and the high standard we expect. the scallops and chorizo were a highlight, followed by the excellent fishing and chips. and gemüsegnocchi. the personal was friendly, professional and friendly. can guarantee that this is not the last visit.

I have just paid £75 for the privilege of eating a mediocre meal in a room crammed full of entitled women who were so loud I couldn’t manage to talk to my family members sat at the same table. I am aware that the fellow...clientele cannot always be controlled for, however this could have been made less of an issue if there was some space between tables. I am unsure at what point cramming as many people in to sit on each other’s laps took priority over a dining experience, but with that attitude, the tables may as well be replaced with benches. I am local to the pub and have been here many times to eat in the past. Tonight’s experience has changed that completely and I will be going elsewhere for our family meet ups from now on. Such a shame.

My partner and I visited The tavern last night ,knowing The tavern very well it was welcoming and cosy . The new owners have put the traditional feel back into the pub. A small but imaginative menu with something for everyone I had a bistro...rump steak which was cooked exactly as I asked for it to be cooked with field mushroom, heritage tomato and the best chips ever ! My partner had pan seared Scallops with Chorizo in a great sauce , for main he had the Chicken dish which he really enjoyed. Well done to Max and the team absolutely spot on
