This was my first time visiting Fran's and it left a good first impression. My wife mentioned that this is one of the nicer locations. It is situated not far from St. Lawrence Market in a peaceful area. I suggest sitting on the patio during the summer, as it offers a quiet atmosphere with a lovely view of nearby Berczy Park. I went for brunch on a Saturday afternoon (though there isn't a specific brunch menu, they serve breakfast all day). It was quite busy and we had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but the hostess was apologetic and we were seated on the patio promptly. We originally planned to order the Big Breakfast but ended up sharing a stack of pancakes (4 in a stack) and ordering individual omelettes. We were surprised to find out that cheese is not included with the omelettes and comes at an additional cost. The food did take a bit of time to come out, but it wasn't an unreasonable wait. Everything arrived hot and tasted fresh, making it worth the wait. The omelette was tasty and the breakfast potatoes were hot and fresh, with just the right amount of salt. The highlight for me was the pancakes, which were delicious. They offered their own house branded syrup that complemented the pancakes perfectly. I would recommend giving Fran's a chance.
Decent chilly soup, and also veggie chilly option! Their pasta is kind of overcooked but still OK to eat (maybe not if you are Italian). Excellent nachos snacks, attentive service, we are always happy to eat at Fran's!
We visited this restaurant after attending a show at Meridian Hall, as they were open late and conveniently located across the street. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Although the restaurant was busy, our food arrived swiftly. The chorizo sausage hash was particularly delicious, and the traditional 2 egg dish was also great. I would definitely return to this restaurant, especially after seeing another show at Meridian Hall.
Located at the corner of Front and Yonge, this restaurant is conveniently close to my home. After finally making plans to visit, we decided to go for breakfast on Christmas morning. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were seated quickly and our order was taken promptly. The menu is extensive, offering all day breakfast options. We decided to try the Big Breakfast and the Portobello Benedict, both of which were delicious and served quickly. The portions were generous and the flavors were amazing, especially the Portobello Benedict. The homefries were also a hit, with plenty to go around. The restaurant is clean, the service is good, and the prices are reasonable. I will definitely be returning for lunch, dinner, or brunch in the future. A must-try for anyone in downtown Toronto.
Standing cool soup, and also veggie cool option! Your pasta is somehow overcooked, but still OK to eat (can not be if you are Italian). Excellent nachos snacks, attentive service, we are always happy to eat at Fran's!
