I would give this restaurant 3.5 stars. Today, I tried the "Halfer" dish and found it to be delicious. However, it lacked the traditional Filipino taste that I was expecting. I wonder if it was because the roasted rice wasn't fried enough or if the pig was too dry. The lemongrass chicken also didn't seem like an authentic Filipino dish. Despite the large portion size for the price, I may return to try other menu items. I do hope they improve the garlic fried rice, as it tasted like plain rice with garlic powder. Additionally, I found the baby pictures on the truck a bit off-putting and would prefer to see more images of the actual food they serve. Overall, the atmosphere could use some improvement.
While exploring North Vancouver's night market, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of food trucks available. I decided to try the BBQ pig on Pandesal (a Philippine bun) and it exceeded my expectations. The pork was tender and flavorful, especially when combined with the sweet and tangy BBQ sauce. It was a delicious meal that didn't break the bank at only $7.50. Who needs a fancy restaurant when you can enjoy such amazing food from a food truck? This was definitely one of the best meals I've ever had.
It's a 3.5 stars...I had the 'halfer' today. It was delicious! it lacked that 'filipino taste' though even though it is a filipino dish....maybe because the fried rice was not that 'fried' and garlicky enough? or maybe the pork was too dry? or maybe because the lemon grass chicken was not an authentic filipino dish? The portion was massive for the price that you pay. Would I come back? I probably will and try other stuff, but please please improve on the garlic fried rice. It was just like steamed rice with garlic powder that was cooked in the morning. seriously!and..... what's with all those baby pictures on the truck facing the customers??? it makes the ambience a little cheap. you're not selling babies, are you? give us more food pictures....the one's that you are actually selling.
I wasn't expecting much while we were wondering around North Van's night market . There were about 20 food trucks to choose from . I'm so glad I decided on this one ! I had the BBQ pork on pandesal (Philippine bun) . The pandesal was loaded with pork and the differing tastes of the sweetness of the bun with the BBQ sauce was magical . The pork was so tender . All for only $7.50 . I don't need fine dining and a tuxedo wearing waiter to enjoy a good meal . This really was one of the most delicious meals I have ever had . I will have to keep track of where they set up in the future , I definitely want to make this a routine .
