Great location and decor. I love the grassed area and the pay it forward 'suspended' coffee movement. I love the simple atmosphere of the place, it's unpretentious and relaxed. Service was good however I think it was the manager telling everyone what to do like it was mcdonald's or something and that really brought my rating down. That and my eggs benny with bacon was disappointing as well. Firstly my eggs looked like they were fried in a ring, there was superfluous lettuce pieces scattered on my plate as well as tomato underneath the eggs. A good benny doesn't need a lot of fuss just good elements. Poached eggs. Bacon, ham or salmon. A layer of spinach goes a long way. The one thing going for it was the hollandaise. Whether it was homemade or bulk bought it works. Stick with it. Still has the potential to be is good as it apparently used to be. Just tweak a few things. Don't shout orders at the staff from across the room. If they dont know what they need to do them find people who do.

Was looking for this place due to the beautiful photos of the waffles in zomato. Unfortunately, the owner has just recently changed (or left) and they have yet to pick themselves up again. You can’t really find the name of this restaurant from the street. I think the name is now “Thilda’s Café”. Nonetheless, someone post a photo of the mural painting on the wall convincing me that I went to the right place. Nicely located at the corner with plenty parking along Victoria Park area – which is full of awesome restaurants for dinner thus making this place very very convenient choice for dessert/café or hangout after dinner. I went inside and found this beautiful-unique-homey cafey. The wall is covered with wallpapers of posters (ideal for photo taking ^^). The owner/staff greeted us with warm smile – very friendly indeed. I ordered the waffles. It took a while to come because there was just 1 staff/owner working at that night. She alone had to deal with customers, taking orders, and preparing all the food. I quickly understand her situation. The waffles came and I was quite disappointed with the presentation – it looked really simple : a waffle, ice cream, cream and maple, no decoration whatsoever. It looks pretty bad compared to the nice photo previously posted on zomato. I took a bite. I fell in love. The waffle is so so so so so so so so so so delicious. It’s crunchy yet not too crunchy. It’s soft yet not soggy. It is sweet and rich of flavour. It is one of the best waffles I’ve eaten. I will come back again for the waffles. Hopefully by then she (the owner) has its business back to normal again. I will then gladly up the rating.
