Sukhadia’s Indian Grill East Windsor

I visited this restaurant for lunch today and ordered pav bhaji, aloo paratha, veg biryani, and a thali. The pav bhaji met my expectations, and they served three perfectly toasted pavs. The parathas were freshly made and tasted fantastic. The biryani was decent but nothing remarkable. The thali was substantial, and the undhiyu was well-prepared. The chapatis were fresh, and the kadhi was delicious. On our way out, we also tried some Bombay halwa, which was disappointing. Overall, the experience was very good.

The staff at the counter didn’t seem to know how to provide good service. They were quite serious and gave off a vibe of “don’t bother talking to me.” On the positive side, they source their sweets from Edison SUKHADIA, but they store them in the fridge for a long time until they sell, which really affects the quality. Unless you’re lucky enough to get something that was made that same day, it’s usually pretty disappointing. Overall, I wasn’t impressed and don’t think I’ll be returning.

The food was great, and the service was also quite good. However, it was really warm inside, and I don't think they have air conditioning. Overall, I would rate the food 4 out of 5.

I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. It used to be one of my favorites, but after this visit, I wouldn't give them even a single star if I had the option. The service from the kitchen was terrible. I specifically asked for no onions on my chaat, but they still included them. When I brought this to the attention of the lady from the kitchen, she refused to believe me despite showing her the plate with the onions. On a positive note, the cashier, Nandini, was excellent and demonstrated great customer service. However, the kitchen really needs to improve, and to top it off, the jalebi was stale.

The jalebis were good, but the fafda was stale, seeming at least 2-3 weeks old. It definitely wasn't worth the $18 per pound. I bought two of them, and honestly, I would recommend getting fafda from an Indian grocery store instead—they taste much better.
