We came here for lunch today but found it was closed : There was a notice on the door saying closed from 13.08.19 until 17.09.19. So just letting people know so they don't have a wasted journey here! Looking forward to coming here again soon for another lovely lunch!
We came across this cafe after visiting Waitrose. The cafe is on one side of the car park. The welcome was great and after seeing the roast veg salad the day before we went back to try it. Excellent. It is closed during August. Go in September you will not be disappointed.
Have never been here before but will definitely be going again. We were going shopping in Waitrose, Old Town, so parked in the car park there and walked to this cafe which is just back from one side of the car park for lunch. There were already quite a few people in here. The lady serving was very friendly and helpful. Had a sausage roll with salad with a large glass of red wine, Merlot this was excellent value at £3.90 and tasted realy lovely. The sausage roll was so tasty as was the salad, it had a lovely side to it, a mixture of cream cheese, beetroot and horseradish this was superb and went with everything so well, loved this unusual combination. Hubby had a cheese and ham toastie which he really enjoyed. He also had a strawberry milkshake and asked if he could have it made with ice cream which she didn't have but offered clotted cream instead it was really good, tasted like strawberries and cream. Our lunch came to just over £18. Service was excellent throughout and the lovely lady here made sure we had everything we needed, nothing was too much trouble and we are so looking forward to going back soon.
Every dish of our delicious dinner had a unique flavour and texture. The desserts were especially creative, a surprise for the taste buds and a real talking point. The unfussy yet stylish decor is both calm and quirky. We loved it wish it was in Brighton as we don't get to Eastbourne that often.
