The Pastry Shop was a short walk from the hotel. Turned out to be a good choice. We only had the small English breakfast each, plenty for us. Good service, pleasant staff and the food freshly cooked. Excellent value.
We were staying nearby in a room-only guest house and were recommended to visit this cafe. They open at 7am and serve excellent, varied breakfasts with generous portions.
Popped in here for lunch as we were in the area and found it difficult to choose as the menu is quite big. Decided to go for pie and chips but when I went up to the counter to see what was available, I changed my mind as the Cornish pasty looked so nice! Hubby went for the liver and bacon casserole. We didn't have too long to wait at all for our meals to be brought to us. My chips were lovely and crispy and the pasty was very nice. Hubby found his casserole quite nice, there wasn't too much bacon just little bits but lots of liver. He found the mash a little too dry, the veg were good. It's very clean in here. There is a toilet to use on the ground floor and that was also very clean. Staff here are all very friendly and helpful the young lady who has set this all up has come here from France, I wish her good luck with this business.
