The Pub At Seipsville - Easton

The food at this restaurant is delicious and the ambiance is comfortable. I had a pleasant meal while visiting my son at Lafayette.

I arrived at the restaurant a bit early, only to find it closed after driving an hour from New Jersey. They had a wedding scheduled. As I was leaving, another group showed up with reservations and they mentioned that this had happened to them before. I called the restaurant to complain, and the manager said he had notified OpenTable of the closing, but I doubt it. I won't be going back.

While the menu may be a bit limited, the food is top-notch.

The server was new and clearly being trained (she had a shadow following and instructing her) but she did a wonderful job- attentive but not hovering or intrusive. Drinks were perfect, I’d come back for just those any day. The grilled octopus appetizer was cooked perfectly (it had been recommended as a “must try” by a coworker) though the plate was drowning in this weird “yuca sauce” that had no taste whatsoever- just this mass of white pudding-like stuff. But still, the octopus was amazing, so we continued to be impressed. Sadly, main courses was where it went off the rails. I ordered the garlic shrimp, my friend had the jambalaya. The flavor on his was amazing, but for one small problem I’ll describe in a moment. Mine didn’t taste at all of garlic. The potatoes were mealy and slimy, the garlic sauce had been burned and congealed to clumps. In both dishes, the shrimp were a disaster. Cooked so hard that they looked like plastic, they required a knife to cut. The thin ends were actually so bad that they couldn’t be chewed with any amount of effort. At $23-30 dollars an entree, one expects better execution. There’s no way the chef didn’t know by looking at the poor things that something had gone terribly wrong. It was super disappointing.

After years of living in the the area found this nice gem. Great place with out door sitting and live music! Food was good the drinks were great! Looking forward to going back!!
