My wife made the mistake of moving a chair to sit by some friends (whether I first waited a good 5 minutes to ask the waiter). When... he finally arrived, it was only rude to scream (before the shocked children) to touch the furniture allegedly for Covid related reasons. Then he left 15 minutes before he came back and shouted more. It took 40 minutes to be served. If we had no friends there, we wouldn't have waited. Totally inevitable behavior from the waiter. The restaurant has the best place in Gourette so doubtful that he takes care of
We stayed a few days at the hotel and of course we tasted the restaurant, great! The place is very romantic and friendly. The service is perfect and the food delicious. We went for Fondue Bouruignonne, fantastic.... and before we sleep the Irish coffee so nice....
Undoubtedly, this is the best restaurant in Gourettes, which unfortunately does not have much competition, how much are pizza and crepe shops. On the other hand, this hotel / restaurant serves good Bearnaise cousins with their signature Garbure soup / straw with a duckbone....Crepes and Omelettes with a side of fresh green are excellent. Salads with meat supplements are excellent and abundant with extremely fresh greens. The selection of wine and beer is good and the service is also multilingual. The restaurant at least in Summertime is located on the ground floor bar area surrounded by large windows and their pastoral views with the roasting Pyrenees and sheep famous for their cheese. Managers and service are multilingual and extremely friendly and efficient.
We enjoyed a wonderful evening meal at the end of a hard day of skiing fresh powder, what could be better? Wrong service and good food. I had the menu that was a huge bowl of garbure, the local soup (mainly vegetables, but with a...five nuggets delicious duck). Others went a la carte and chose well prepared Margret de Canard and Entrecote Steak etc. It turns out the place has a few hotel rooms. We liked it so much that I think we could stay there next time. It also has the advantage of skiing out.
We stayed in Gourette while walking the GR10 and were lucky that someone had recommended the BDN. On arrival we had a warm reception from the waitress and barman. The proprietor was helpful and charming. Our room with balcony was comfortable and well furnished. We...very much enjoyed our dinner of regional specialities. We slept well and left after a splendid breakfast with a really good fruit salad and a range of breads and pastries. As a treat we were given pancakes and maple syrup. This was an excellent hotel and I highly recommend it.
