Feedback gevenWith a name like Cottons Seafood Market I was expecting a better variety of seafood on the menu. The selection was disappointing. I ordered the garlic butter shrimp and my husband ordered the beer battered cod. The food wasn't horrible and neither was the service but it was nothing to brag about either. I'm on the fence about whether or not to give it a second chance... I guess a tell tale sign should have been when there were only 2 other tables taken at 7:30 on a Friday night.
Been 2x so far. First time I had the Clam Chowder and the Ahi Tuna (not bad) second time had the Lobster Bisque and Tuna. The Bisque was awesome, the Tuna was ok. Would like a different sauce for dipping. Oh the Clam Chowder was great too. Love that it's all made fresh every day.
Waited about 15 minutes to sit while seeing 5 empty tables. It was obvious with the help that was working that they had VERY little experience in the restaurant side of the business. No one had s particular job. They were wandering around lost about what to do next. The catfish for my son had to be sent back because it was raw. The gator bites my wife ordered were greasy like the temperature wasn 't hot enough when cooked. The fish in my fish and chips were about the size of fish sticks. My other sons fish tacos appeared to be the only thing good although wasn 't enough for his appetite. The total bill was $67. A little high for what I could have got more of at a cheaper price at another place across the street. Being a seafood MARKET, I would expect more of a variety of SEAFOOD as opposed to what the local catfish houses have. Menu only had deep fried shrimp. I expected that since it was a market that they would have their market products available on the menu. At least the Chinese place across the street had crab legs, boiled shrimp, and frog legs. Overall I believe they have potential if they get on the ball and remedy a few problems.
