We needed a twin bedded room on ground floor where we could take a dog.Could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We had evening meals in the bar area which were very good and filling, fish and chips and haddock fish cakes and chips we were so full we couldn’t manage a pudding but were assured if we came back later we could have one then. We did, an hour and a half later and had sticky toffee pudding delivered to our room. Excellent service! Our room was pleasant with everything we needed although the bathroom was a little narrow it was adequate for our needs , we stayed 2 nights and plan to return later in the year. Every member of staff was pleasant obliging and friendly and Covid precautions were very evident and reassuring we felt very safe there, even though there was a contingent of 10 veteran cars and their families staying for 4 days too. Can’t wait to return.
Good food, nice atmosphere with the Chesterfield couches in the pub area. 1 large TV for sports. Sunday roast was very nice too. Outside seating available.
Cheerful staff and a good menu good selection of Malt Whiskies made for an enjoyable evening. Field mushrooms in a quality sauce followed by a hefty size beef curry were delicious. Old leather furniture to relax in with a dram or two completed our evening. Breakfast the next day was just as good.
We visited here twice to eat and drink during our week in the Lakes. We were a group of 8 people 4 adults and 4 children (teenagers) Can't fault it, great food, atmosphere, staff were great. and the kids would have ate there every night if we allowed. Very relaxed. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice relaxing atmosphere especially after walking all day.
This place has been going for years, and its starting to look very tired. The food is just average and the beer not great. Would be great to see it get back on its feet as a great location
