The New Inn - Eden

This charming restaurant is definitely worth a visit, as it is managed by a delightful couple who excel in their craft. They welcome dogs, and you might even have the chance to meet their adorable pub dog! All the dishes were freshly prepared, and they provided us with detailed explanations of the menu as well as expert advice on drinks. My husband particularly enjoyed the local Settle Brewery beer. The pub fare was delicious, with the lamb shank being a standout dish. The restaurant is located in a lovely historic setting, and the real fire adds a cozy touch on chilly, rainy evenings. We were able to walk in without a reservation, but I would recommend booking in advance during peak season. Note that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

This restaurant is a hidden gem! I recently enjoyed a fantastic solo lunch during a leisurely walk from Appleby to Bandley Bridge. Despite a misleading sign claiming the bridge was closed, I found it to be open and accessible. The owners were very friendly, there was an adorable dog on site, and the ploughman's meal I had was excellent. I will definitely be returning in the future!

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and serves homemade dishes with a variety of options to choose from. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. They also have a good selection of beer and the owners are friendly. It is definitely worth making the extra effort to pay a visit.

20th August 2022. We held a birthday party at the New Inn, Hoff. A beautiful day was had with very dear friends. Arron and Carolin (landlord/landlady) were delightful hosts and made us all wonderful/delicious food. Thank you so much. Well worth a visit for a meal or pop in for liquid refreshment. 5

If you are in the area, put this pretty little pub at the top of your visit list. This is a proper old school pub, serving great beers and genuine home cooked food that will blow your socks off! We cannot recommend it enough and the owners make you feel Sooooo welcome.
