Cafe De Valencia - Edinburgh, City of

Unfortunately, this restaurant has closed down. It's a shame because it seemed interesting, but it's not surprising considering how frequently it changes. Its location on a side street may have contributed to its struggles.

I had a wonderful tapas lunch today at this charming restaurant. I enjoyed Chicken Skewers, Spanish Meatballs, Calamari, and Tuna & Asparagus Brocadillo. I will definitely be coming back. The prices were very reasonable.

What a treat! I walked by and saw Paella on the menu. I knew I get there. As it happened, I brought 6 people with me (one a vegetarian). NOTE they are closed from 3 to 6pm. But at 6pm, he opened the door. We moved 2 tables together. We were the only ones there (It was Thursday). TAPAS we each ordered a plate and a few Paellas to go around, a few bowls of soup, some bread. The food smelled wonderful and tasted even better. We were happily sated and the divided was very reasonable. My friends thanked me for the suggestion and I thanked them for the company. We all thanked the owner for a wonderful meal!

So excited to find this authentic Spanish cafe. We had tortilla Espanola which was amazing and made for us on the spot. Note, they take siesta 330pm to 6pm so arrive before or after.

After receiving a massage, I was feeling hungry and decided to try something new for food. I came across Cafe de Valencia in the Newington area of the city. This cafe is fairly new and is located in a space that used to house other cafe businesses. It offers both sit-down and take-away meals with a Spanish menu, as well as some Scottish and English dishes. The interior is recently painted and very clean, with comfortable seating at stylish tables. I ordered a fresh chicken and garlic dish with spicy potatoes and fresh paella from the Tapas menu, all of which were well cooked and flavorful. I also enjoyed a delicious soup that came with small portions of bread and butter – the soup was just over £2 and the other dishes were just over £3 each. The service was excellent and the overall atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. This cafe definitely deserves more customers. I left feeling satisfied and will definitely be returning.
