Just a quick bit and a hot coffee and tea and out of the cold weather, great food, great prices, will be stopping there again, staff very riendly
Just round the corner from our hotel we found this brilliant café. The staff couldn't do enough for you and were very friendly. We went there every morning and recommended it to other guests who were just as impressed
This was my second visit to this restaurant and it will definitely be my last! During my first visit, it took approximately 40 minutes for my food to arrive after ordering, but I didn't mind too much because the breakfast was good. However, on my most recent visit last Sunday, I waited for an hour with just an apple juice before realizing that I had been forgotten. The restaurant didn't seem busy, but it took them 40 minutes to clean a table after guests left. I also noticed that other customers who arrived after me were served before me. Despite being hungry, I decided to pay my bill and leave, informing the staff of what happened. I didn't receive an apology and was told that they were busy, even though they had a maximum of 24 seats and half of them were available. They explained that they operate on a first come, first served basis, but it was clear to me that there was a lack of organization and politeness in their service.
I have heard that this cafe located across from the recently renovated Haymarket Station used to be quite dismal. However, under the new management of David and Kirsty, it has become a delightful spot to enjoy a full Scottish or English breakfast, or my personal favorite - the #3 with tomato, mushrooms, hash browns, egg, rashers and toast. I highly recommend giving it a try, as you'll find it difficult to leave before noon! They offer free wifi and serve authentic Turkish coffee, thanks to David's roots in Bodrum. Not only does he speak fluent Italian, but he is also a talented cook.
