Great bar for a quiet pint even in the hurly burly of the festival

If you are looking for an authentic pub a little away from the tourists, this is the place for you. The historical ambience is beautifully preserved. The bartender was very friendly and gave us good tips about the very good whiskey selection, but also answered questions about the history of the pub. We'd love to come back next time we're in Edinburgh. Thank you for the lovely evening!

Rustic pub with friendly staff, fair prices and a great atmosphere!

Top little bar, was the first that we visited when we came to Edinburgh as it was round the corner from our guest house. Proper traditional pub with impressive central bar, staff were nice and a decent selection of beers :
