Very handy if you are staying at hotel opposite. With parking a major problem/nightmare/expense in Edinburgh, free parking a bonus at this shopping centre. Good for a quick snack if you don’t want to travel or eat in the hotel. Limited supply of clothing etc...but usual M S quality.

Rain all the way throughout our January Journey to Edinburgh until the sun popped its big weary smile upon the car park view from the windows at The M&S Cafe at Blackhall Shopping Centre, our first stop of the day. Its always a convenient...watering hole to use for two reasons ... 1. You know what to expect at these M&S outlets, been there before and all always in ship-shape order. 2. Edinburgh is not a friendly place for people like us who are burdened with a car ... it's free parking, of course, at Blackhall. One would have thought that all car parking in town would be free on Jan 2 ... it used to be a Scottish National Holiday ... mais non, the charges begin on all parking spots in Auld Reekie Edinburgh on this very morn, at eight ... a fate we discovered when we returned to our hotel, late that evening ... a ticket, no less, on the window ... and another thirty quid doon the drain.
