I went twice. Both times i was treated as I'm eating for free or doing me a favour. No smile or the usual welcoming gesture in any restaurant. I resigned the first experience as a one-off experience. So i brought my friends who were visiting from Australia. I was not aware there was a strict rule to wait outside the cold until we attended. I went inside to inform them I had arrived for my booking which i made 2 days earlier and got told off by the bald guy have to wait like the others!! Finally we sat down and caught up with a chit chat and wasn't ready to order when the bald guy came for the order. He scoffed truly made us wait for our first order. Had my friend not been 88 years old with sore feet, i would have dealt with a complaint there and then. Appalling way to run a business. Demeaning when there are other restaurants to go to. Then the food. It's like a reheated piece of beef. Tough as a bark. I travelled to 16 cities towns in France Spain with Edinburgh being the last stop. This has to be the worst experience i had in a cheap restaurant with an ego and attitude that the food cannot back up with.
Never in years, but really enjoyed the pizza, it was just still delicious. I had a Peperoni one and it was great, crispy crusty edges, not soft at all, and served to buy a beautiful waiter. That was very happy.
Great ambience and food Calamari was perfectly seasoned and the Tagliatelle was tasty and a very plentiful portion (mainly got another meal as a leftist). Definitely will try back as there were several courses I wanted to try!
This Italian cuisine was recommended by hotel staff during our stay in Edinburgh. A short walk from the hotel, it was in a lower street position (to hide from the tourists, I think). A very beautiful find. And highly recommended!
