Halal chinese, indo kitchen, great selection, eating was really served fast, tasty and fresh, very pleasant service.
The waiter was friendly and attentive, so I have no complaining about the service, but eating was really terrible. there is alcohol on the menu, but when it came to order, we were told that they no longer have a alcohol license, so I ordered a diet coke that cost and was given to me in a dose with a threat. I ordered the cattle massaman curry and my friend got the cattle rays. the bark in our two was bad, very chewy and very blanching. the curry was watery and the robbers had great pieces of carrots in it together with sesame seeds and other strange objects that did not seem to belong in it! the noodles were cheap and seemed to come from an instant ray pack. we also got salt and pepper frying, which were in order, but were not tasty and completely tasteless again. the prices are low so that I expected nothing imaginative or luxury, but overall really inauthentic, bland food and a lack of atmosphere. Please do not note alcohol on your menu if they have no license to use it. in edinburgh, where the eating scene is so impressive and there are so many amazing restaurants, I am surprised that this place is still open.
Awful service, not friendly staff, food tasted so bad and overall would not recommend this place, menu was not exactly, it said that they can turn any dish to a vegan, even if we asked -it wants vegan at all, and they can not do that, the place was absolutely empty, a waiter and barkeeper sat/chatting on the phone, so rudely super overpriced for two
The good points: Food arrived very quickly, well-cooked, well-prepared and hot. The bad points: Nowhere when I ordered did it mention the food would be spicy. I don’t usually mind spicy food but the hostel I am in feels like it is so I didn’t really want spicy/hot food and would not have ordered it if I had known. I specified on Deliveroo that I would like cutlery (as I’m in a hostel) which I was informed would be provided. It wasn’t. I had to rip the metal food container and fashion a spoon myself which didn’t really work. A first for me. Never had a Pad Thai with mushroom in it before; another first. Had I have known there would be mushroom with it, I wouldn’t have ordered it because I am allergic. Simple things to get right. If they had added a sentence or two to describe the ingredients, I would have ordered something else and this could have been a good review. When I picked the mushrooms out, what I was left with was a weird-tasting Pad Thai... but it wasn’t horrible as such, so I can’t complain in that front.
