Papilio - Edinburgh, City of

We visited this restaurant about a year ago and were pleased to find that the quality of food and service has remained consistently excellent. The prices are reasonable compared to other Italian restaurants. The fact that many local residents dine here indicates that they are doing everything right.

Everything was perfect. The atmosphere was cozy and lively, the service was prompt, and we appreciated the detailed descriptions of the special dishes that helped us make our selections from a diverse menu. We typically enjoy one course and a bottle of wine, and we found the house white (Trebbiano) to be just right. The food was delicious, especially the recommended Tagliatelle Papilio - creamy, spicy, and perfectly cooked. The mixed fish dish of monkfish, sea bass, and scallops was crispy and fresh, served with carrots and tender stem broccoli. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience!

Papillio remains a fantastic dining destination. Whenever our family visits, we always choose to dine here and are consistently satisfied. The service staff continues to provide excellent service.

This is a really great restaurant, we live locally and visit every few months. The staff are so friendly and the service is excellent. The food is traditional and really high quality, excellent fresh seafood and fish, and the pizzas are a hit with all of our family. They seem genuinely happy to see kids come in the door as well, and make them feel as welcome as the adults. If you live or stay locally they do takeaway too, you just need to call and ask.

First visit to this restaurant whilst we had a short break in Edinburgh Both the food, customer service and ambiance were excellent. It was that good we went back the next night!
