Had dinner booked for 6 of us at night, service terrible, uninterested staff, one informed us it was table service after we had ordered our drinks at the bar so we sat for 20 minutes while he chatted away then just went to the bar again. Not sure why were being ignored, no one else was and it was far from busy, but that's how we felt. We had a table booked for the following night for the 6 of us and we cancelled and chose to spend our money and time at The Steadings 5 minutes away. Would not recommend on service alone, we enjoyed what we had. We use the touring section and to have a bar/restaurant on site is a bonus but service let's it down.
Dropped in from a dog walk. Love that it 's truly dog-friendly. Ordered drinks but never felt the lady serving wanted to engage, preferring instead to chat to a colleague. The card machine was offered to me before being told the total. All the while there was little eye contact. When I asked if we could take a table I was advised that all of them are reserved though many were still unoccupied. Had we been asked how long we intended staying, we might have taken a table for the permitted time and had a second drink. Instead we stood uncomfortably at the bar and departed after one round. Stewart 's Ka Pai is a fab pint.
Great spot to meet with family for dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Good food and very tasty. Loving the newly refurbished bathrooms very stylish.
A lovely building from the outside. The inner courtyard has outdoor seating for the restaurant and inside is a very dark and atmospherically lit restaurant. We were seated quickly and the staff were on it ASAP, asking what we wanted to drink. They gave us menus and then took our order. The burgers were gorgeous. 2 patties, loads of cheese, well cooked bacon. Fantastic quality burgers, no fat or gristle and really chunky. Great chips, fried to perfection. The coleslaw was heavenly. Really impressed with the quality of food. Toilets have recently been refurbished and are lovely, modern and clean. Dog friendly.
Went in for a drink last week and decided to take whole family for Sunday lunch the following week. Spoke to a young waitress about booking for following Sunday. A woman waitress/manager? Said we could not book but to just come in on a first come first served basis. So we arranged with the family 9 adults and a small child to arrive the following Sunday at 12 noon. When we all arrived we were told we could not get food until 3pm because we were a large party the same woman who had told us to arrive early for first come first served lunch The bar and restaurant was empty ! I would not recommend this place to any family as they clearly don't want you there. We all left and went somewhere else that was extremely hospitable
