The Canons' Gait - Edinburgh, City of

We were waiting quite a while to have our food order taken as all the kitchen staff was on a break on what seemed a busy time. I didn't mind, but never experienced that before. The burger I ordered was acceptable, but nothing that would make you go back. Good place for drinks, but I wouldn't go for food.

Fantastic experience at the Canons ' Gait. Got the cake of the day (Steak and Ale) and the Färsche and Maische in a Yorkshire pudding. Pie meat was tender and tasty. Sweet, but not too sweet. Beer and whisky good. The ambience of the place is pretty, the bar is quite ornate and good looking and is not let in compared to the fine outside of the pub. For dessert we have the Scottish 'classic' deep fried Mars Bar. It was pretty incredible, and we're glad we came out alive to tell the story.

Best fish and chips I had on my three week trip from Scotland! Our waitress Kate was a great help.

Great place, server was friendly and ingenious and this deep peace mars bar is such a nice treat idk as ive never heard of this dessert before cant wait to try it again

The staff was really friendly and beautiful, the whole atmosphere was great, the food was good.
