The staff were excellent and recommended that I try hake for the first time, as I am cautious about fishing practices. We both enjoyed a fantastic 6-course meal with wine pairings. Our waitress, Mel, had a wonderful and stylish sense of humor that we appreciated. We will definitely be coming back.

If you are seeking a cozy and charming yet laid-back setting to savor a delightful Scottish meal, look no further than The Cellar Door! My partner and I stumbled upon this delightful eatery during an evening stroll, where the lovely Giulia (our gracious hostess) led us down to a cozy corner and into the capable hands of the night. I opted for the North Atlantic haddock with chips (fries to Americans), while Jim enjoyed a traditional roast pork dinner. Both dishes were wonderfully delicious with generous portions that pleased our appetites. The atmosphere was fantastic, the Scottish cuisine comforting and flavorful, and the prices very reasonable. We decided to take a stroll to avoid typical pub fare and overpriced average food. With minimal expectations, we stumbled upon what appeared to be an empty restaurant at street level. However, upon entering, we found a small gem with a warm welcome, pleasant atmosphere, a great selection of dishes, and reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place and suggest disregarding the empty seats on the upper floor.

New cook, creative dishes that are well run with informed attentive service. a beautiful bright room with huge windows, despite in a cellar! taste the venison, the goat cheese bonbons and the beautiful chocolate dessert. recommend them high!

I booked in advance as it was festival time and a good job I did as many people were turned away. The staff were pleasant and talkative but overall the service was a bit sluggish. The food was well okay. Nothing special and lacking in a lot of areas primarily flavour. Whilst the presentation was good the contents didn't live up to the image they presented. Even the gaelic coffee wasn't very gaelic and used a very lame coffee. Overall pretty average and not high on the return list.
