Spoon Edinburgh

The food at this restaurant was rustic, but delicious and clearly homemade. I was unsure when making the reservation, but I would definitely come back again without hesitation. The staff was friendly and attentive.

The atmosphere at this restaurant is beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. It was a refreshing change from the usual four walls I used to frequent. I will definitely be back!

The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere and a welcoming staff. The meal was decent, not particularly outstanding but still a good dining experience. I ordered grilled duck and beetroot with black pudding. The meat was a bit tough, but the other components were tasty. I was slightly disappointed that there were only one or two vegetarian main dishes available, one of which was a pasta dish.

I just wanted to caution TopTable users that when we arrived at Spoon, they had no record of our reservation because they no longer use TopTable. I'm not sure why they are still listed on the website, so it's best to book directly if you plan on dining here. As for the restaurant itself, we had a pleasant early evening at Spoon, but I felt that it was not a great value for the price. The decor is unique, but it doesn't create a very intimate or cozy atmosphere. The staff is friendly, and the food was decent but nothing exceptional. I think it would be a nice spot for brunch and reading the paper, but not the best choice for dinner.

I used to go to spoon every week when I was living in Edinburgh in 2014 because they serve the best breakfasts in all Edinburgh to me. The place is really warm and cosy with a kind of old attic atmosphere. I particularly recommand the rolls (bacon+sausage+fried eggs is my favourite one! which are so good that they will haunt your dreams for years! Indeed, 4 years later in 2018, the only thing I was dreaming about was to go back there and have breakfast and I was thrilled to see that the food is as good as in my memories! It's also a good place to go for tea lovers as they got a lot of different teas which are all really good. I recommand this place a thousand times! For the food, the place, the atmosphere, the lovely staff and the rather cheap prices! A must go in Edinburgh!
