I feel that the quality of the pre-packaged sushi at this restaurant has declined since my first visit a couple of years ago. Today, the salmon roll I ordered looked nice with glistening fat but felt a little stiff and stale, even though it was packaged today. I arrived for an early dinner around 4pm. The taste was good, but the texture was not up to par. It's a shame because the salmon chunks looked beautiful. However, the sweet old lady who always works the register has remained the same. She once gave me a free miso soup, possibly because the register was broken and I had to pay with cash. On a positive note, the restaurant is conveniently located in H Mart, making it a good spot for a quick meal. The prices are fair and reasonable.
If you're looking for Unagi Don, ramen, or sushi while at H-Mart, this restaurant is a decent option. The food isn't gourmet and some dishes may be overpriced, but there are also good deals available. Each meal includes a side of fresh house kimchi, and soup-based dishes come with a side salad while non-soup items come with a bowl of miso soup. I recently tried the chirashi sushi, which I found reasonably priced at $13. The sushi rice was a bit hard and the fish was average, with some pieces poorly sliced. My boyfriend enjoyed his unagi don but thought it was a bit pricey. Our friend loved the kimchi ramen. Overall, the key is in making the right choices. The fried chicken on the menu looks enticing and will be my choice next time.
Features: The curry ramen was not terrible, but its def not good. It has a nice side dish tho.
If you're going to wear a cap in New Jersey, why not wear a San Soo Kap? This is the pretty standard pre-packaged sushi place that is popular but not amazing. It's got one good thing going for it, which is that it's very cheap, and such is the strength of it, but the sushi doesn't taste great and definitely doesn't taste fresh either. There's a lot of great food in Edison and this isn't one of my favourites, but it's still a lot better than some of the sushi **** they're sellinga at grocery stores. But I've had cheap sushi in Manhattan and Chinatown Boston that was incredible, so I know it can taste better than this while still being cheap.
