Skylark is in some ways the embodiment of the New Jersey diner experience and in other ways a subversion of it.

The diner was really busy around 9 amWe got seated fairly quicklyOJ was freshly squeezed and coffee tasted really good.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. During my last visit I wanted a Ruben sandwich but I didn't see it on the menu. My server pointed out an item in the sandwich section called City Lights. The meat was pastrami but I wanted corned beef. No problem at the Skylark! They will make what you want even if it's not on the menu. My Ruben was delicious served with tasty fries. That's why I keep returning. My server was great, fast service and helping me find what I wanted.

I had the chicken and rice soup it was really good and the main course I ordered the Portuguese seafood linguine it was out of this world. So good!
