New York Fries Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre

I visited this mall to volunteer for Santa's Anonymous, which is currently utilizing the space that used to be a Target. The mall has the traditional layout of a single long line of stores, and while it doesn't have an extensive range, there are still some decent shops. Plus, there's a fun bowling alley in the basement if you're looking for a break from shopping. Since the volunteers were busy, we had some time to explore. We checked out several stores, including HMV, where I snagged some great deals on discounted gift merchandise, as well as Carlton Cards and Shoppers Drug Mart. However, I noticed there's a limited selection of women's clothing stores, though there are plenty of jewelry shops. In the central area of the mall, there are kiosks and vendors selling various products. We grabbed a bite at the food court, which doesn’t have a wide variety of options, but there is plenty of seating available, and I appreciated that the staff were actively cleaning tables and clearing away trays. The mall also features anchor stores like Safeway and Sears. On the upper level, there are some organizations with offices, so you can attend meetings and shop in the same location! Overall, while it's not a mall where I'll find everything I need, there are still some good shops where I can make some nice purchases.

This mall is on the upswing, although it didn’t have far to go. It's cleaner and has less empty space than it did a few years ago, but it still feels a bit outdated. Perhaps Target's presence is helping to bring some improvements. With Capilano Mall now closed, it seems like older patrons will be more prominent here. I can’t believe the Bonnie Doon Lanes bowling alley is still around! It will be fantastic once there’s an LRT connection to this place.

The food and service are outstanding. We are eager to return. Keep up the great work!

I visited this restaurant for the first time and I must say, it’s the best I've had! The fries and hotdogs were excellent, and the service was friendly, fast, and convenient. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
