Cafe Del Sol - Edmonton

Had been here before and we had a gift certificate, went yesterday and the sign is still there, dark inside, no hours, door locked at 5 p.m. Checked with the neighbour and were told they went out of business. The least they could have done is leave a note on the window to their customers. Pretty rude if you ask me!

Wanted to stop for dinner the other night but the restaurant was unexpectedly closed. Spoke to a neighbouring shopkeeper who confirmed that the restaurant has closed down.

We had purchased a Groupon for this restaurant and were really not expecting much when we saw Cafe Del Sol from the outside as it is located in an obscure aging strip mall, but we have learned not to "judge a book by it's cover". We were pleasantly surprised by the authentic Mexican food. We started off with delicious nachos and they make the chips by hand on the premises. For our entree, we both had the shrimp tacos which were to die for, and came complete with ample servings of Mexican rice and black beans on the side. I will definitely be coming back!

We went to Cafe del Sol and we were absolutely blown away! We ordered Margaritas which were very well made, and then enchiladas and beans and rice. I cannot convey in words how mouth watering delicious it truly was. It was perfection on a plate, that I would have kept eating forevermore given the choice. So freaking great. Just go there and eat. Do it.

You step into this award winning restaurant and feel like you've stepped into Mexico. Everything is authentic right down to ambience. The smells taste and quality is top notch. Highly recommend. The margaritas are fantastic.
