We had a very pleasant experience at this restaurant. We both had the recommended daily specials and were pleased with the freshness, quality and quantity. The service is extremely friendly and it appears that this is a family business which takes pride in every aspect. My husband had a beer and I enjoyed a glass of their house wine. The price for a Whyte Avenue location was very reasonable for a night out. If your looking for high end fancy this is not the restaurant for you - but if you are looking for a great meal and a nice drink to accompany it without feeling like your breaking the bank this is a good choice.

We stepped in to the Mandarin Restaurant for the second time this month. Both times we ordered a 'Dinner for 2'. They come with soup, a spring roll or green onion cake, and chicken fried rice. We then get to order two dishes of our choice from an extensive menu. We paid a dollar extra each to have Wonton soup. The egg roll was very oily the first visit, but not the second time. I especially enjoyed the fried rice because it has egg incorporated into it. As our choice dishes, both times we had the 'sweet and sour pork chops'. They are so delicious and there is a lot of meat on the plate. Last time we had Chicken Ginger Hot Pot. It was really tasty and fresh. I would recommend this restaurant. The service was good and they have an extensive bubble tea menu, if that's to your taste. Prices were reasonable and we had a lot of food to take home with us. We were the only non-Asians in the place both times.
