Naan-O-Licious - Edmonton

Came here due to a promotional coupon. Had high hopes that unfortunately were not met. The decor is pub like which wasn't real comfortable for dinner. I had a curry chicken. The chicken and my rice were dry, the curry was bland and the naan, which I was hoping would be the star of the show, was greasy on one side and dry on the other. I'm glad I had a coupon as I would have been even more bummed if I had paid full price.

I was with a group of contacts for a casual social event. The naan bread, potatoes and other appetizers were not to spicy and everyone seemed to enjoy them.

We had the smogies (samosa-perogie mix), curry poutine and chilli chicken bites. The food was very, very good, particularly the smogie sauce which was creamy and smooth. We also had the kulfi for dessert, and were pleasantly surprised at the total on the bill.

Was sampling different places on whyte av, stopped to see what they were offering due to the catchy look from through the windows while walking, anyway stomach full from sampling, I asked the the waiter if i can pay for one meal for my friend and I to share,(he inquires from( chef ahmeed a guy with an earing)and says ok we can share a meal(and pay for it as one person's meal and I told him it was only going to be small portions) they had a buffet and I asked the waiter again if I can take a sample from the buffet, (aMEED(earing guy) I think was his name saying he was the chef agreed when the waiter inquired.i served small portions of their buffet a tablespoon portion for the rice,chick peas ,goat curry, butter chicken,paneer(spinach n feta) and we both got naan breads(garlic n butter) as we were not eating a main course but just sampling and pay as agreed(I had already given the waiter $20 even before I sat down to eat since that was covering the bill n tip .my friend and I sample the food, and the guy with the earing (ahmeed)says we have to pay for two not one like agreed as we used two plates.the two plates contained small portions listed above(I didn't want to mix all the sauces together hence the mini portions on the two plates and he saw me serve it helped me while serving only to tell me I had to pay for two people.I reminded him what I asked over n over , he agreed to our intial convo (AND YES HE SPEAKS ENGLISH VERY WELL THE GUY WITH THE EARING) but He insisted we had to pay. then I had to demand for my receipts. i paid cash both times but never got my receipts until I demanded a few times.in total paid $38.85 wait also I was also given a second wrong receipt overcharging us ,I had paid for our meal even before we ate $18.85 and then was charged $20 before we left the place as they insisted we had to pay for two .Remember we only ate the small servings I served initially and didn't go for more round.........I GOT RIPPED OFF FIRST AND LAST TIME NEVER GOING BACK THERE WILL ATTACHMENT FOR THE RECEIPTS FOR MORE PROOF IF I CAN UPLOAD THEM.

We discovered that they'll prepare Indian meals that are not in the menu if you request them! We used to go in for a proper tikka masala when we felt like proper Indian food! The owner gotbto know us and was always very friendly!
