La Villita Bakery - Edwardsville

Who would have thought you could find authentic Mexican cuisine in Edwardsville? This restaurant offers the best tacos around and features a stunning array of delicious pastries. To top it off, there's a market packed with all the Mexican meats and ingredients you need for cooking at home, conveniently located on Main Street!

The food here is excellent, and the service is outstanding. They even offer delivery right next to the pool league bar. The owners are very friendly and are accommodating with special requests.

I got the impression that this family was exclusively serving us their homemade meals. The menu is small but includes the essential dishes that you would typically find in their home. Regarding the bakery, the family relocated from the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn, which gives some insight into what to expect. Great food, affordable and beautiful people running the place. I recommend asking for additional spicy because it seems that they reduce spices to accommodate people in the area, but still great!
