Don Pedro is top notch. Living in effingham, it is easy to get lost in the sea of convenient restaurants?but I come here nearly every time I dine out. The chefs work hard and it shows. I?ve never been served a bad meal here. The foh staff are all sofriendly and fun to talk to! It is by far the best restaurant in town, because they have the perfect balance between qualityand approachability. If you want something small and light for lunch, don pedro. If you want If you want to splurge and getsomething authentic or unique, don pedro. If you want to sip on margaritas and eat tacos on the roof, don pedro. Love theseguys. Love the handmade tortillas (ask for them), the homemade salsas (green), Al pastor tacos, and any of the regional dishes.Seriously, can?t go wrong.
I just have to say that Taqueria Don Pedro is the BEST Mexican restaurant in Effingham, IL. They serve authentic Mexican food. Lili and her staff do an amazing job every time I come into eat. I have been here multiple times and cannot say enough goodthings about this place. As for a food recommendation, I highly recommend their chimichanga. This is definitely my favoritething to eat on their menu, but I have tried everything on the menu and it is all great! I highly recommend Taqueria Don Pedro!
I?m a local menudo lover, and I want to express how great the food is prepared and served. Lilly and her team would personally call me to let me know they have fresh menudo prepared. Look no further if you looking for authentic Mexican cuisine. Thisestablishment doesn?t follow the cookie cutter typical Mexican restaurant definitely they are outside the mold. Thanks Lilly andteam.
Just meh, maybe our expectations were hyped because of all the good things my mom keeps hearing about the place and the promise of all the people grabbing to go orders here but we weren't really impressed. Mom and I both ordered chimichangas I had carneshe the ground beef. Best part of the chimi was the cheese sauce it was covered in, carne had little flavor but I can't countthe number of times I had to stop and spit out a chunk of fat or gristle that I just can't handle, it was chopped in such smallpieces many could probably handle it but anything aside from the actual meat I just can't do. Pico and lettuce in place was anice touch but lacked any overall flavor in the pico. Horchata was good in that it didn't have the grit many places do butlacked some cinnamon IMO. Table salsa had good flavor we all love it when we can actually taste cilantro and you could here.Hubby had a taco plate but he does his own reviews, what I remember is that the onions weren't fresh probably (no flavor) andthat the radish could have been pickled. Also a bit disappointed in the tortillas being all wrapped up and only having one pertaco! Would we come back when back to visit mom again?possibly but doubtful.
