Cafe Tulipan - Einsiedeln

The hungry ones had some flavour. München, the others blueberry smoothie and papaya sunrise smoothie. I took a cappuccino and an apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce. All just gorgeous! Out on the terrace enjoying the view towards the monastery.

I have been here several times and always appreciate the warm atmosphere and great, friendly service. The location is the best and it's hard to beat the view on the terrace.My favorites are the Flammkuchen and Apfelstrudel and also the great variety of organic teas!

We stopped by Cafe Tulipan for lunch which is right next to the Monastery of Einsiedeln.If you know the place; you know it's nice but also a tourist trap. So we not expected much when ordering our lunch. We ordered several dishes, to mention is the flamcake which is pretty good and reasonable priced. We finished our stay with coffee and cake.At the end, we paid much less as expected due to the very reasonable pricing.Service was fast and friendly; even the place was almost full.We also shopped at the bakery which is open during sundays. We enter in this tea-room just to have a hot beverage in a very cool winter day. There is a wide choice of teas and herbal infusions which are served with a home-made biscuit. Service is quite efficient. Prices are a bit high if compared with european standards.

I know it sounds a little random, but this place has the best hamburger I have ever eaten in my life. The meat is from the local butcher, it is broiled so there is a nice, slightly salty crust around it, and it is juicy juicy juicy. There are crispy onions and salad on top, as well as a tasty sauce. It's really the best, and at only about 12 USD it is a very fair price (add 6 more for fries). Have it with an Einsiedler beer and take in the nice view of the Einsiedeln abbey right in from of you.
