Beef 'n Bun Whistle Stop - El Cajon

Beef N Bun has been a staple for years! I used to stop by daily after school for fries or a shake! This isn’t a restaurant where food is just kept warm under lights, so be prepared to wait a bit while your meal is cooked fresh. The burgers are excellent, the fish and chips are delightful, and the fried zucchini and onion rings are amazing! (The fries are incredibly tasty.) Now for the highlights: make sure to order a chocolate peanut butter banana shake—it's absolutely delicious! The Pepsi freeze is fantastic too, and their soft-serve ice cream is the best in town! Enjoy your visit—you won't be disappointed!

I discovered this place on Urban Spoon and decided to give it a try. We realized we had passed by it several times before but had never stopped in. We're so glad we did this time! We absolutely loved the food! Although we didn't try the fries, we sampled a variety of shakes and burgers. The banana shake was my favorite since it actually contained real bananas! The burgers were hand-formed rather than pre-made, and they were delicious. We can't comment on the interior since we used the drive-thru, but the food was fantastic. I also noticed they offer breakfast, so we definitely plan to come back for that!

We enjoyed classic burgers, creamy shakes, and perfect fries at this fantastic local restaurant. Our family of five ate for under $35, which is a great deal! The place is really clean and has a welcoming vibe. The only downside was that the woman taking our order was a bit rude. Overall, a solid experience!
