They have told me about their big portions and how they can never finish their meal in one sitting. I decided to try it out today and got some food to take home. Fondita La Gloria is located in a relatively small area off E. Main St in El Cajon. The inside of the establishment is quite small as well since there are only a few tables. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the man behind the counter and he was very nice. Since it was my first time there, I asked what he recommended. He provided several suggestions and luckily his suggestions were exactly what I wanted. I ended up getting Chicken and Beef rolled tacos, California burrito, Chicken chimichanga, and a Watermelon Aguas Frescas. Initially I did not see a chicken chimichanga on the menu only a beef chimichanga. so I asked if they had the chicken version and he took a second to think about it and said he can make it. The rolled tacos looked good and standard. The burrito's size was ridiculous. I took a picture of the burrito compared to a tv remote. I didn't want to open the burrito since it was for my brother who wasn't home. The chimichanga was very large and I also took a picture to compare the size. I guess my coworkers weren't lying. The chimichanga was loaded with chicken and cheese. It was very tasty and I was only able to finish half of the chimichanga. I am looking forward to returning to try more items.
Delicious food and the breakfast burritos as soooo good. We also ordered the mar y tierra burrito which was absolutely the best one we had tasted. 10/10 recommend
Small spot that I randomly stopped at but their SERVICE FOOD passed my expectations. Guy behind the counter greeted me as soon as I came in and was eager to help as soon as I was ready. The food was delicious and decent portion. I got a breakfast burrito and carne asada taco. I left this spot full and happy. Definitely recommend you take a chance on this spot.
I ordered the birria and carne asada tacos. They were both great but that Birria taco is FIRE. So delicious and well flavored and they are HUGE. My friend told me to order one...so I ordered two and inhaled them both. I will be full for the rest of the day. Great service and great food the salsa verde is really good too!
Best Mexican spot around the area. Had the carne asada sopes and caldo de pollo. Hands down best around town. Chicken soup has so much flavor you definitely don't need to add anything extra. And the salsa they add to the sopes...so bomb!! would suggest it on the side if you are taking it to go. Can't wait to try their mole and pozole.
