The Pancake House - El Cajon

Best breakfast place in El Cajon in my opinion. The waitresses are wonderful people. The atmosphere has a good, laid back old school feel about it.Food: 5/5

Love the family atmosphere here. This is an awesome place so much more personal service over the corporate companies. If you are looking fora spot with a great menu and where they remember you come here. This is your new home.Food: 5/5

One of those friendly small diners where you end up becoming a regular. I happened into the spot once by chance and now it's the preference for breakfast/lunch in the area. Gives you the retro diner feeling and very hearty portions on your orders. Came across the all you can eat fish fry and definitely get your worth out of it!Food: 5/5

A classic dinner feel straight out of the 50s with some exceptional customer service.The location is one of those forgotten spits every one drives past and doesn't even notice it.Before Dennys and IHOP took over this is the style and actual place for a breakfast Diner.The inside would be a great film location for a period piece. They even have some original dishware and appliances. The atmosphere is straight 50s maybe 60s amd original design. They do have a lot of pictures all over most of which does not contribute to the atmosphere and seems to jest be there.The food,the pancakes are typical but pretty good.Philly cheesestake sandwich was surprisingly good.Service is where thos place really shined. The sole waitress/hostess/busser, was way busy servicing everyone but still made everyone feel important.I would say the downside is the menu is so massive it makes ordering hard.If your looking for a classic look andbdont want to support the mass market dinner of IHOP or Dennys give this place a try.Parking: Lots of parking and fairly easy to get in and out of.

If you love an excellent breakfast, you'll love The Pancake House. I had the Monticristo and samples from the others in my party. Everything is delicious. Also, our server was terrific.Food: 5/5
