The village is very tourism based and there are a number of shops in the main square. El Forn is the first bar you come to after you enter the fortress-like gate through the rock. There are a couple more restaurants in the square but they are surprisingly more expensive than this one, even though they sell the same sandwich and tapas menus. The owner was nicely friendly and the service was fine. There were 2 tables on the pavement so we took one of those and people-watched while waiting for our food. The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is because they had no cuttlefish or meatballs left, although the crab and ham croquettes were tasty and fine. The better half had French omelette, chips and salad, again perfectly acceptable.
This was my first taste of Spanish food in Spain and I can say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had mushrooms in salsa and tortilla, for dessert I had the apple pie. My friends had bacon chips and eggs which included Spanish bacon. The tea was also very good. Can highly recommend it! It was here that I made my first attempts of ordering a meal in Spanish and found the waitress patient and friendly. Would definitely go there again.
Nipped inside as cold day. Ordered some tapas and all good with pleasant service. Would use again if back in the area.
