The prices are good, I had the tuna on Rye (recomended by a customer and their Berry tea. Everything tasted vary home made and it was super nostalgic. Definately coming again to just kick back and draw
My wife and I went there for lunch on 09-17-2014. I had the Carne asada burrito plain. And my wife had the spaghetti lunch special. The food was TERRIBLE!!! No flavor, bland and just all wrong. Hard to believe this place stays in business. The place looked filthy and worn down. The service was slow. Never go there again. I wouldn't recommend this place to homeless person if the meals were free. I had more delicious food at the school cafeteria in elementary school.
The soups are great. Usually has avocado slices in it, and served with Spanish rice with salsa on the side. The best is the potato soup! Not like a cream of potato soup but it's actually in a clear broth and is delicious. The machaca burrito is also very good. You'll pay a little more here then u would at a cheap taco shop. I just wish they didn't close so early at 4.
I give this place one star because I ordered the special. It was a burger that was not fresh.it was a frozen patty on a bun three times bigger than the meat, with a bag of chips and a can soda. All this can be yours too for over 7, yes seven dollars.
This place has delicious sandwiches along with other items on thier menu, its a nice quiet spot with friendly service in downtown El Centro. Even if the parking can be a bit limited at times I enjoy the food here regularly when working.
