Kyoto Ramen - El Cerrito

The Ramen variety is amazing. And they all taste great. The service is usually pretty fast.

I didn't really care for the Ramen. It was very bland and even tho I asked for spicy/hot broth the cashier insisted I get regular so I did and should've been more persistent about my choice. I didn't really eat the ramen at all toppings weren't good it was just like warm water and items floating in it. So I bought an appetizer and another meal instead, as not to make a big deal about the ramen. The pork lumpia was pretty good but only with the sauce. I ordered a chicken katsu and asked for more Mac and less rice as you can see from my receipt. The amount of rice to salad was way more than asked. When I went to correct the issue, the lady told me that is more mac and less rice because they charge for Mac by scoop! If I wanted another scoop it would be 3 dollars more. On top of the 30$ I'd already spent on disappointing ramen and apps. The katsu was good in some parts others where tough hard and nearly black I couldn't even chew. Overall not a great dinner.

My little brother loves Japanese food so we thought we would stop by here during our Barnes Noble run.I beat the lunch rush by like 10 minutes! You order first and you can let them know if you'll be taking it to go or eating it there. I ordered the chicken Katsu curry extra spicy. Unfortunately the curry was not spicy at all, there was a hint of sweetness but overall it was pretty bland. I like that the katsu were crispy but at the same time I felt like they were a bit too crispy and a bit hard to bite into at times. The portion was pretty big in my opinion and the price wasn't all that bad, about $28 for both mine and my brothers meal.I would come back to try the Ramen!
