I remember when this restaurant first opened, I visited during their grand opening and probably been back 3 4 times a year, patronized through the whole pandemic. I now have a family, and i brought my 3 year old and 10 month old in to enjoy lunch. It all starts fine and they offer plastic kids plates for the kiddos instead of porcelain plates. Good idea! Kids drop plates. Well guess what my 10 month old dropped her plastic plate and it fractured the handle. (Drop from table height to the floor) They said you broke it i will just charge you $5 is what the cost is. Ok... So first of all the way that plate fractured it was so cheaply made. 2nd you offered a plastic plate to my kids (presumably with the expectation that it will be dropped) Guess what my kid drops the plate and they wanted $5 after my $75 lunch. Honestly, it would have been cheaper if the kid dropped the porcelain plate, that would have only been $2. Now I am all for accountability: But this is excessive and unwise. Ownership should understand it was a poor decision. I hope they take this review not as punitive but a lesson learned. I paid the $5 they asked for, left and now they 've lost a customer for life. Dishware breaks all the time in a restaurant: A kids plastic tray? come on.
I found out this place was Michelin Bib Gourmand and wanted to try it out since I live so close by! For the prices, I think you get a generous amount of food, especially for the dumplings. The service was also very quick for a weekday lunchtime. My favorites were the green chive with pork and shrimp dumplings $12.99) they had flavorful filling and a nice thickness in the wrapper. The chive pockets $7.99) were slightly oily, but still tasty. I would probably pass on the beef noodle soup $14.99) next time because it was oily and lacking in flavor. The beef also felt like it had more bone than meat. I would definitely come back for the dumplings and other sides though!
We watched them make our dumplings and they were delicious! Beef tendon soup and chive pancake were yummy too... $5 TsingTao. Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Beef Noodle Soup, Green Onion Pancake, Pork Shrimp Chive Dumpling
They get 3 stars because they didn't do anything wrong, it was my coworker that tricked me into going there. But it wasn't good. The food was bland (tasted like steamed tofu) and as such it was overpriced. The service didn't do much to improve the experience. I will not return unless it's to punish someone for what they did to me. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
I've been trying to eat a meal in this ice cream for a long time. there was only during the pandemic. it's not the same. you have to be there to enjoy the magic. loved the swirling pancakes, huh and mushroom dumplings and the marinated gurke / black mushroom salad. dreaming to have it back in a few days when it was just a few hours since I was gone. will be back for more and I am encouraging people to share my vision.
